Basic Electronics Certification

1)  Student Electronics Technician

The first option is designed for High School students and is simply called the Student Electronics Technician (SET). The SET allows high school students and entry level technicians, who have not had enough training to pass the two year Associate certification, the opportunity to earn a basic beginners certification.  The SET also has an optional Hands On component that can be used as a part of the training process.  Students who successfully complete the Hands On portion will receive a special Hands On notation on their certification.  View the Hands On Competencies.

2)  Associate Certified Electronics Technician

The second option is an Associate Level certification called the Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CETa). The Associate certification (CETa) is designed for technicians who have less than two years experience or trade school training for electronics technicians.  All CETs must pass the Associate (CETa) before they can qualify to sit for the full Journeyman (CET) certification.  When a technician has completed the two year program they should also take a journeyman option. The Associate certification is only good for 2 years. After the two year period, a technician must take an option for the Journeyman certification.
