Why should I join ETA? |
Technicians who care enough
about their profession to join the Association are generally held
in higher esteem than are those who never join anything
(wouldnt you expect Mr. Goodwrench to provide better service
than Mr. Greasemonkey?).
The membership certificate
displayed by the ETA member attests to the members legitimacy
as a technician. |
The distinctive certificate
displayed by the Certified Electronics Technician provides
evidence of proven knowledge and competence. ETA can help
you reach C.E.T. status. It means more money for you. |
Although ETA is not an
employment agency, it continually assists members in getting
started in the process of finding employment. In
addition to JobTarget and the regular listing of current job offerings in the
High-Tech News, the association regularly is solicited for
technicians who are looking for employment, in the U.S. and
overseas. |
Hundreds of ETA members have
assisted other members in learning how to do something new, or how
to do something better. Members share information at ETA meetings
via The High-Tech News, via the member-to-member web page, by
contact with ETA officers or committee members or through direct
personal contact with other members. Our members speak and
understand the unique technician jargon and are able to relate to
the problems of fellow professional technicians. |
ETA dues are very modest, yet
ETA is one of the best and most effective fraternities to which an
electronics technician can belong. It seeks to foster competence,
integrity, and professionalism among its members, and to promote
public respect for this profession. ("Dues are the rent
you pay for the space you take up in the industry" - Thomas
Jefferson) |
ETA promotes comradeship among
its members, and provides a channel by which members can assert
common concerns with a concerted voice. The ETA TechTalk
Forums is a unique online service for our members. |
Special "member only"
items are continually offered as a benefit of your ETA
affiliation. Low-fee
telephone service, discount rates with publishers for today's
current technical journals, and other savings will be offered to
you. |
As a member you can purchase
distinctive ETA clothing, lapel pins, study materials and many
other member-only items, including the free publication: The High-Tech
News, to keep you at the top of your profession. |
Our annual
convention provides cutting-edge training and brings you
face-to-face with the industrys top professionals and
manufacturers.
