ETA

Institutional Membership
ETA offers electronics technology companies and schools a unique opportunity to be involved in technician and dealer concerns and to participate in improving the electronics industry.

Companies have a number of ways to benefit.  First, dues are only a token amount - affordable by every electronics firm.  Then each issue of The High Tech News carries business and technical articles important to the industry.  Monographs cover topics which often can't be given time in the jam-packed company training programs or the curriculum of schools.

Diversity
ETA's information shows you what others are saying and doing - the politics and the issues that the industry is experiencing. The member organization gets a picture of what journeymen techs are doing and to provide the technician work force and what government units are doing that affects the industry.

Discount Incentives
All ETA members receive lower prices for ETA produced study materials, identification items and even seminar registration.  ETA does everything possible to help companies join in and to raise professional competency levels.

Education
ETA fosters excellence in electronic service.  A continuing stream of technical information has been provided  to members since 1978.  Along with those are business management start-up  and employment-help monographs, also available in the ETA library at a very small cost.

ETA locates or produces study materials for both CET and FCC license study.  Computer discs, videos and printed materials help technicians keep up with technology and achieve certification goals.  ETA publishes many of the training materials in-house.  Our certifications are based on skills standards.

Certification
While not a requirement for membership, thousands of technicians have recognized the value of technical certification.  Virtually all professions now require certification in their field.  ETA staff and dozens of its CET committee officials "wrote the book" on electronics technician certification, having participated in its origination and administration since 1966! ETA helps members achieve certification with study materials, through local chapters and practice exams. Your company can join in this effort to raise the standards.

Chapters
Dozens of ETA Student Chapters have sprung up at technical  schools.  By being a member of the local chapter, students have an extra  opportunity to study for CET, or add to their school course materials.  Interfacing is a great help in understanding difficult concepts.  This helps technical colleges produce better graduates.

Career Guidance
ETA presents the widest range of technical and business concepts in the pages of its journal, High Tech News, as well as at regional and national conferences.  This helps students see what goes on in the various electronic fields such as Telecom, Computer, Fiber and other areas.  By familiarizing oneself with the diversity of electronics the technician can better see avenues of opportunity and cooperation - the best "fit" for him or  her.

Who Can Join
If your company or school plans to provide products or services in any area of electronics, you are eligible to join ETA.  Hardware manufacturers, public and private educational institutions, services providers and allied groups can have a voice in the not-for-profit professional Electronics Technicians Assn., Int'l., Inc.

The Cost to Belong
ETA has established an introductory membership program for companies.  You can become a full ETA supporting member for only $250.00! This includes four  individual memberships for instructor/employees.  You can list ETA's logo on your company literature and participate in ETA events.
